Social Entrepreneurs in addition to profits and returns takes into account a positive return to society by furthering broad social, cultural, and environmental goals. It is commonly associated with the voluntary and not-for-profit sectors utilizing entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a social venture to achieve a desired change.

Social entrepreneurship practiced in a world or international context is called international social entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship with a Purpose

I Believe in entrepreneurship with a purpose.

I have always been of the belief that businesses are created to make money by providing quality products and services, making it a win-win for the consumer and the investor.  I believe that while making a profit businesses needs to be prepared to give to those less capable or who have less due to special circumstance, not to cause dependency but to create opportunities for personal effectiveness, growth, development and satisfaction.

Corporations such as McDonalds, WalMart, Target and many others through their corporate foundations contribute by way of  grants, or use marketing dollars to support community events, sponsor sports activities and more.

This is not Social Entrepreneurship. It may be considered Social Responsibility.
